Just wanted to share some news and links with you. First off, my novels Patches of Grey and Matters of Convenience are now both available for the first time in hardcover at Amazon. Reading preference matters, so I aim to be of service with my prose in as many formats as possible. Patches of Grey can be obtained in paperback, hardcover and download to kindle app. Matters of Convenience is available in each of those derivations as well, plus there is also an audiobook version. I suppose that I need to get cracking in producing/publishing audiobook editions of Patches of Grey and my novella Feeding the Squirrels. Last but not least, there is my children's book The Absolutely Amazing Adventures of Ava Appelsawse. It continues to be obtainable only in paperback format, and that is probably how I will keep things. I am of the firm opinion that a child should ideally be able to hold a book in their hands and view it with their eyes (particularly the wonderful illustrations provided by Erin Rogers Pickering), regardless of whether reading it for themselves of having it read to them. Of course, when it comes to kids it's always wise to have a back-up plan.

Matters of Convenience

If you happen to be anywhere nearby Union, New Jersey then I invite you to stop by the wonderful library to be found there. That is where I will be on Saturday, September 26th, 2026 to participate in their upcoming Local Authors Fair. I will have some books on hand if your favorite physical format is "autographed by the author", and I will be reading an excerpt from my soon to be released third novel - Second Shot.

CHAPTER ONE - read by the author

I hope you enjoy listening to this excerpt (with accompanying slideshow of visuals) from my novel MATTERS OF CONVENIENCE. Perhaps I'll keep recording and create a full audio book. Then again that's probably best left in the hands of those with greater expertise, though I don't think I sound half bad if I do say so myself. I may have even managed to outdo my effort from the last go around. If you want more of the story, a printed or electronic copy of my book will need to be obtained and read. For now, just hit play and kindly grant me about six and a half minutes of your attention.

Perhaps one day I'll get around to recording a reading of the entire novel, at which point I'll be able to offer Patches of Grey as an audio book.  Until then, the print edition and Kindle edition will have to do.  You can enter the contest at Goodreads before May 20th for a chance to win a copy of the former.  As for the latter, it will be available for free at Amazon 5/21 - 5/23.

A reading from MATTERS OF CONVENIENCE - Audio Excerpt

I hope this blog post finds you well, and with five minutes to spare.  Eventually I wish to be standing before you in a bookstore or some other literary setting, reading from the words I set down on paper for my second novel.  For now, simply hit the play button found below in the privacy of wherever you are (after putting on a pair of headphones if you wish, and perhaps pouring yourself a cup of coffee or glass of wine, depending on time of day) and kindly listen to my recording of an excerpt from MATTERS OF CONVENIENCE.  I doubt it sounds effortless because it certainly wasn't.  But I got through it relatively unscathed.  Enjoy!
